About me
Kia Ora. Thank you for joining me here. My name is Lydia and I am an independent celebrant based in Northland.
I stumbled into becoming a celebrant after my partner threw my name into the hat when some friends of ours needed a marriage celebrant. He said "Ask Lydia, I bet she will get the registration no worries, plus she has a natural way with people and communication".
Just like that, two years and many beautiful marriage ceremonies later, I'm still here doing it and have never looked back. I have continued to flow into the role and lead with what feels right with minimal pressure. It brings complete joy to my summer leading ceremonies, and for the rest of the seasons I am a registered Occupational Therapist.
I have really leant into the writing about the compatibility of couples and how they met. This is my second favourite part of this role, right after being able to hold space and facilitate people through their special day.

With your desired location (back yard, public reserve, beach, venue) I will facilitate a ceremony as long or as short as you like. Whether it’s a barefoot event, beach wedding, or a backyard do - anything goes! This is perfect for those planning a full day celebration with 10+ guests.
